For those who heavily rely on alarms, particularly with multiple reminders set in succession, the app "Alarm That Talks" may offer a beneficial solution.

Traditional alarm applications serve their purpose well when users have the ability to glance at their phones. However, during moments of distraction—be it driving, cooking, or simply being out of reach—one might miss crucial updates. The ability of an alarm to verbally announce its reminder could greatly enhance its practicality.

For instance, if a user needs to visit a pharmacy, the alarm could articulate, “Go to Pharmacy.” This functionality ensures that tasks are promptly recalled, thereby reducing the chance of forgetfulness, which is precisely what "Alarm That Talks" accomplishes.

The app boasts an interface that mirrors the iPhone’s Clock application, facilitating a seamless user experience. Users can set the specific day and time for alarms to sound. Additionally, similar to standard iPhone alarms, there’s an option to play music; however, selecting “None” in the sound settings enables the app to vocalize the user-defined label.

The verbal reminder is articulated five times at a measured pace to enhance comprehension, interspersed with “Hello” after each repetition to recapture attention.

Our experience indicates that optimal use of this app occurs alongside the iPhone’s built-in alarm feature. To maximize effectiveness, users should replicate the timing of their existing alarms in "Alarm That Talks," while advancing the new reminder by one minute. For example, if a standard alarm is set for 5:15 P.M., setting "Alarm That Talks" for 5:16 P.M. allows for effective time management. Users can snooze their regular alarm using the side button, and one minute later, "Alarm That Talks" will announce the critical task. This approach has proven effective in overseeing schedules and may assist others in achieving similar results.
